Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a behavior modification technician to support students within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. You will help implement behavior management plans, observe and document student progress, and work with teachers, families, and community partners to promote positive outcomes.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, with two years of related coursework or equivalent experience. Preference for a Bachelor's in Social Services and an NCI certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; two years of related college coursework preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field preferred; relevant experience acceptable.
• Active Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Provide one-on-one and group therapy processing sessions and behavior planning.
• Observe, document, and maintain data on student behavior and progress.
• Establish rapport with students, staff, parents, and community agencies.
• Explain CMS policies and guidelines to families and partners.
• Implement behavior management programs to improve social and academic skills.
• Assist with discipline and coordinate activities with parents and staff.
• Supervise students assigned to alternative settings as needed.
• Provide practical assistance to develop social and academic skills.
• Teach social skills and monitor behavior to prevent incidents.
• Maintain logs of student progress and behavior changes.
• Assist with referrals to community services as needed.
• Respond to staff and student needs, including crisis de-escalation.
