Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to assist in developing and implementing individualized behavioral interventions for students. The role focuses on data collection, assessment support, and collaboration with staff to ensure safe and effective outcomes.

The incumbent will gain experience in behavioral programs, data analysis, and de-escalation strategies while contributing to a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

  • Standard high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of four years of experience working with behaviorally complex children.
  • Two years of experience with behaviorally complex children if associate degree earned.
  • Must have stamina to work with behaviorally complex students and implement behavior management strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data in the school environment.
  • Assist in data-gathering for Functional Behavior Assessments.
  • Help develop and implement behavioral programs and behavior plans.
  • Assist staff with techniques for implementing behavior systems.
  • Monitor data and share intervention recommendations with staff.
  • Supervise assigned students during interventions.
  • Follow safety rules and School Board policies.
  • Participate in training to enhance related skills.
