Job summary

Poway Unified School District is seeking itinerant Behavior Intervention Assistants for elementary and secondary sites to support students with behavioral and mental health goals under IEPs. Role involves 1:1 and small group support, data collection, and collaboration with teachers.

Qualifications

• Two years of behavior support experience in a school or home setting.
• Completion of 2 years of college level training or equivalent in a related field.
• Experience with ABA, behavior management, or mental health systems preferred.
• BCBA certification preferred or actively pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Work with program staff and students served through IEPs across multiple school sites to support delivery of positive behavior intervention strategies and progress monitoring of related behavior and social-emotional skills.
• Support implementation of practices and strategies to support student progress towards individual IEP goals in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Assist teachers in development and implementation of instructional and behavioral support services using strategies aligned with ABA and other research-based methods.
• Work with students 1:1 or in small groups to support behavior management and self-regulation.
