Job summary

Hopewell City School District Central Office in Hopewell, Virginia is seeking a Behavior Analyst & Support Specialist to lead division-wide behavioral systems, conduct FBAs, develop BIPs, and coach staff in PBIS and MTSS.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, School Psychology, Counseling or related field.
• BCBA certification preferred; alternative training with demonstrated expertise in FBA, BIP, and evidence-based practices.
• Virginia licensure/endorsement eligibility; CPI trainer or willingness to become one.
• Experience with PBIS, MTSS, FBAs, BIPs, and IDEA regulations; strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide division-wide leadership in evidence-based behavior management and PBIS.
• Conduct FBAs using multiple data sources and observations.
• Develop and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
• Collaborate with school teams to implement MTSS-based interventions.
• Coach staff in de-escalation, crisis prevention, and professional learning.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings (IEP, manifestation determinations) and ensure IEP alignment.
