Job summary

NorthStar Public Schools is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to lead behavioral assessments, develop behavior intervention plans, and oversee evidence-based supports for students in special education. You will collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, students, and families to promote positive outcomes.

This role requires the BCBA credential, a master's in a relevant field, and the ability to manage data, training staff, and participate in IEP

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Education, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles and practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other behavior-related evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and revise Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Analyze behavioral data and make recommendations based on student progress.
  • Provide consultation and coaching to teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and related service providers.
  • Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other staff implementing behavioral programming, as applicable.
  • Ensure behavioral interventions are implemented with fidelity.
  • Provide professional development and training on behavior supports, crisis prevention, de-escalation strategies, and applied behavior analysis.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluation planning meetings, manifestation determination reviews, and other student support meetings.
  • Collaborate with families and community providers to support student success.
  • Maintain documentation, data collection systems, and required reports.
  • Assist districts in developing school-wide and classroom behavioral supports.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local special education requirements.
