Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proof of completing an ASL interpretation course.
• Educational Interpreter certification required or obtainable through HealthPRO.
• RID certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken English into ASL and vice versa.
• Provide interpretation services in educational, medical, clinical, or office environments.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
• Research subject matter in advance when terminology is technical.
• Demonstrate strong listening skills, memory retention, and clear signing.
• Collaborate with staff and clients to ensure effective communication access.
