Job summary

Fulton Schools is seeking a qualified accounting professional to manage cost center and Student Activity Fund accounting. The role includes training principals and bookkeepers, providing ongoing support, and ensuring accurate monthly reports and year-end closings within a school district setting.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years in related accounting, strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with Student Activity Fund software.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field required.
• Strong skills in cost center and Student Activity Fund accounting.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial training for principals and bookkeepers.
• Develop and deliver periodic workshops for applicable staff.
• Provide ongoing accounting support to principals, bookkeepers and staff, including site visits.
• Monitor Student Activity Fund financial reports monthly and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist with year-end closing of Student Activity Fund records.
• Prepare annual reports on Student Activity Funds for state reporting and external audits.
• Maintain the Student Activity Fund Accounting Procedures Manual.
• Maintain and/or implement Student Activity Fund accounting software.
• Prepare Form 1099s for schools annually.
• Perform monthly Student Activity Fund bank reconciliations.
• Support day-to-day operations including phone, mail, filing, and training materials.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Student Activity Funds and cost center accounting.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the administrator.
