Job Description and Responsibilities

Position Summary: Transports children in company vehicles, maintaining their safety at all times. Follows established routes, schedules, and procedures. Ensures the vehicle is properly cleaned, maintained, and serviced. Upholds Celebree mission, vision, and values. Maintains a safe and violation-free driving record.

Valid driver’s license; must be 21 years of age (may differ depending on insurance carrier). Ability to effectively manage a mini-bus full of children; excellent communication skills; patience and flexibility. Must perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Essential Functions:

• Assist children into and out of the bus; ensure seat belts are fastened and child safety seats are in good condition.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and procedures to ensure children's safety.
• Pick up and deliver children with safety as a primary focus.
• Supervise children at all times, both inside and outside of the vehicle.
• Comply with vehicle policies and road safety regulations.
• Perform face-to-name counts at each drop-off/pick-up.
• Review the bus to ensure no items or children are left behind.
• Meet all field trip and transportation policies.
• Maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness; report issues to the School Director; ensure regular servicing.
• Set an example in language and social skills.
• Adapt to schedule changes as needed.
• Interact positively with children, using their names and an appropriate tone.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and events; limit unscheduled absences.
• Present a professional image, adhering to uniform requirements.
• Assist and interact positively with parents; greet by name.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding families and staff.

Qualifications

Physical Demands: Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and carrying are required to perform essential functions.

Education/Experience: Minimum of five years driving experience.
