Job summary

A To Z Building Blocks is seeking team members to support our school-age program. The role follows the school day with morning, midday, and after-school shifts; during summer, the position becomes full-time with engaging activities and trips.

You’ll work with children, lead activities, supervise meals, transitions, and outdoor play, and help with field trips. The schedule blends school-year split shifts with summer full-time opportunities, including infant/toddler support as available.

Responsibilities

• Assist with school-age activities, games, projects, and daily routines.
• Support children during meals, transitions, outdoor play, and group activities.
• Supervise children during before and after school care.
• Help with summer field trips and school-age events.
• Keep classrooms, buses, and activity areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Provide positive guidance and support to children.
• Communicate with team members and families as needed.
• Transport children to and from school or field trips as required.

This position is perfect for someone who enjoys variety and a schedule that follows the school day. During the school year, you’ll work with children before school, have a break in the middle of the day, and return for the after-school program. During the summer, you’ll transition into a full-time schedule filled with fun activities, field trips, and adventures with our school-age group.

What You Will Do

This role supports our school-age program. During the summer, this is a full-time position. During the school year, this is a split-shift position supporting before and after school care.

School Year Schedule

• Morning shift before school
• Midday break between shifts with opportunities to pick up additional hours by supporting our younger classrooms
• Afternoon/evening shift after school

If you’re looking for a schedule that allows for free time in the middle of the day while still working full-time during the summer, this position offers the best of both worlds. For those interested in additional hours during the school year, there are opportunities to support our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms during the midday break.

What We Need From You

We need team members who are reliable, flexible, and enjoy working with school-age children. Because this position follows the school schedule, applicants must be comfortable working a split shift during the school year.

• Available Monday through Friday
• Full-time availability during the summer
• Available to work before school and again after school during the school year (split shift), with the opportunity to pick up additional hours by helping in our younger classrooms during the middle of the day
• Able to work within our operating hours of 6:00 am to 6:30 pm as scheduled
• Comfortable being active throughout the day and lifting up to 50 pounds
• At least 21 years old
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Willing to safely drive a large vehicle transporting school-age children
