Job summary

The Southern District YMCA Hampton Center is hiring a Group Leader to run after-school programs in Hampton, NH. You will implement YMCA-approved curriculum, ensure child safety, and foster positive relationships with children and families.

Responsibilities include leading educational activities, maintaining a supportive, organized space, and participating in required trainings. Flexibility to travel between sites and respond to program needs is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old and have a HS diploma or GED.
• Experience with school-age children or related coursework preferred.
• Completion of background checks and health forms as required.
• Strong communication, integrity and confidentiality required.
• Ability to transport to program site when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities to engage students in fun, educational activities.
• Respond to individual needs of children in a positive, nurturing way.
• Maintain a safe, organized program space for children.
• Create a positive atmosphere to boost self-esteem.
• Use positive behavior management to guide children.
• Maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and schools.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and events during school year.
• Communicate with Program Coordinator and YMCA management promptly.
• Promote teamwork and welcoming staff environment.
• Be willing to transfer location if needed by the Program Coordinator.
• Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to abuse policies.
