Job summary

Caliday School Age Program seeks qualified educators to inspire children through engaging activities in a safe, supportive environment. You will implement age-appropriate curriculum, supervise activities, and maintain classroom safety and cleanliness.

Ideal candidates hold an AA or BA in education or related field (or 45 clock hours in development and school-age care), CPR/First Aid, ADA training, and at least 400 hours working with school-age children. Strong family communication is essential.

Qualifications

• AA or BA in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or similar.
• 9 clock hours training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public; CPR and First Aid; Health and Safety; ADA training.
• 400 hours of experience working with School Age children in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Implements activities that are age-appropriate and stimulating according to Caliday curriculum; manages effective classroom management.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Communicates effectively with parents, greeting by name, addressing concerns, giving feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
• Maintains open and effective communication with team, parents and school community.
• Ensures appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom are maintained.
• Identifies opportunities or problems in the program and works with the team to resolve.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
