Job summary

Caliday is seeking a School Age Program Teacher's Aide to support before- and after-care for school-age children. You will work with the Program Director and School Age Teacher to implement activities, maintain a safe, welcoming environment, and ensure the Caliday mission and standards are upheld.

The ideal candidate has some childcare experience and a commitment to positive discipline and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Some experience in the childcare field.

Responsibilities

• Assists with managing the program space and ensures compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Assists with the implementation of activities that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
• Maintains open and effective communication with team, parents and school community.
• Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and/or Program Director to resolve.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
