Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have an AA or bachelor's degree (or credit equivalent) in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or a similar discipline OR the 45 clock hours Child Development, birth through school-age, and the 45 clock hours Curriculum for School Age Care
• Training includes 9 clock hours in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, CPR and First Aid, Basic Health and Safety, and ADA training
• Candidates need 400 hours of experience working with School Age children in a professional environment

Responsibilities

• Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures
• Provides a welcoming environment for children, parents and visitors
• Implements age-appropriate activities per Caliday curriculum with effective classroom management
• Assists and supervises children; counsels using Conscious Discipline and behavior management techniques
• Communicates with parents with updates on program happenings and address concerns promptly
• Maintains open communication with team, parents and school community
• Ensures the classroom is clean, safe, and well maintained
• Identifies opportunities or problems and works with team to resolve
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits

Essential Functions:

• Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the other team members to resolve.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• The ideal candidate will have an AA or bachelor's degree (or credit equivalent) in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or a similar discipline OR the 45 clock hours Child Development, birth through school-age, and the 45 clock hours Curriculum for School Age Care
• The ideal candidate will have the 9 clock hours of training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, CPR and First Aid training certificate, Basic Health and Safety training certificate and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) training certificate.
• Candidates are required to have 400 hours of experience working with School Age children in a professional environment.
