A leading community organization seeks a dedicated School Age Program Coordinator to deliver high-quality recreation services. The role involves planning educational programs, supervising staff, and ensuring a safe environment for children. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to child development. Flexible scheduling is required, including availability during school breaks and summer months.
This position is well suited for someone with pleasant personality. Desire to work with school age children year-round. Work record demonstrating positive attitude, reliability, tact and productivity. Strong initiative and ability to solve problems and commitment to work collaboratively. Willingness to work a flexible schedule: outside of normal school hours, during school breaks and holidays, and throughout the summer. Thorough knowledge of positive leadership techniques, children’s activities and games, developmental learning progressions, and appropriate discipline techniques. Ability to work independently and complete tasks within prescribed deadlines. Possess computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.)
Required: High School Diploma or GED required.Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Recreation or related field is preferred. A minimum of three years in a leadership or child care role required. During the school year, consistent weekday morning and afternoon availability required; summer months, weekday availability required. Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED, Mandated Reporter, and Youth Mental Health and First Aid certifications or obtain certifications within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities
Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation, the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation, and the Recreation Supervisor – School Day Programs and Camps, the School Age Program Coordinator will assist in planning and implementing the K-5 Before & After School Program and complete his/her assigned duties to the best of his/her abilities, offering suggestions of better ways to accomplish jobs and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees
