Job summary

Caliday School Age Program seeks a Teacher's Aide to support the before and after care for school age children. You will assist in implementing age-appropriate activities, help maintain a safe, learning-focused environment, and work with the Program Director and School Age Teacher to uphold Caliday's mission and values.

The role emphasizes Conscious Discipline, positive guidance, clear communication with families, and compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have some experience in the childcare field.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the management of the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Assists with the implementation of activities that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
• Maintains open and effective communication with team, parents and school community.
• Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and/or Program Director to resolve.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
