Job summary

The York JCC, based at the York Academy Regional Charter School, is seeking a part-time School Age Supervisor to lead the classroom team and maintain high-quality programming for school-age children. The role is employed and compensated through the York JCC.

You will plan daily activities, coordinate Assistant Teachers and Aides, and assist the School Age/Summer Camp Director with designated tasks, while ensuring a nurturing environment and strong family relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, special education, psychology, or the human services field is required or preferred.
• BA in any field with 30 credit hours in above fields or equivalent.
• A.A. degree in above field with two years of experience or A.A. with 30 credits and three years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the School Age Director in the supervision of staff members in your home base.
• Provide a nurturing environment in which all children feel welcomed and secure.
• Meet Keystone Stars standards.
• Read and adhere to the JCC Early Childhood Program standards for DHS regulations, family communication, facility and equipment care, record keeping, curriculum, health and safety procedures, teamwork, and staff meeting attendance.
• Promote the JCC’s mission, membership, programs, events and charitable purpose to JCC members and the public.
• Provide excellent customer service to JCC members, staff, and guests by adhering to the JCC Consumer Code of Conduct.
• Other duties as needed or assigned.

The principle duties include: planning and implementing daily program activities, coordinating the activities of the Assistant Teachers and Aides, and assisting the School Age/Summer Camp Director with designated activities.

*Time used to support the JCC in meeting Keystone Stars quality standards is funded by Keystone Stars. If the JCC should lose this funding, then that portion of time and salary would be absorbed into the operating budget.

Skills and Qualifications

• B.A. degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, special education, psychology, or the human services field; or
• B.A. in any field with 30 credit hours in above fields; or
• A.A. degree in above field and two years of experience; or
• A.A. in any field with 30 credit hours in above field and three years’ experience

Work Schedule

Part-Time, Mon-Fri - 7am-8:45am and/or 3pm-5:30pm
