Job summary

York Jewish Community Center seeks a Part-Time School Age Program Leader based at York Academy Regional Charter School. This role is employed and compensated through the York JCC, with duties centered on leading the classroom team and delivering high-quality school-age care.

You will plan daily activities, coordinate with Assistant Teachers and Aides, and support the School Age/Summer Camp Director. Requires a degree in relevant fields and a commitment to JCC values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, special education, psychology, or human services.
• BA with 30 credits in above fields as an alternative.
• AA degree in above field with two years of experience as an option.
• AA with 30 credits in above field and three years' experience.

Job description

This role is based at the York Academy Regional Charter School; however, the position is employed by and compensated through the York JCC.

Overview:

Provide leadership for the classroom team, to maintain the quality of the JCC's School Age Program, providing excellent care and education for children and building strong relationships with families. The principle duties include: planning and implementing daily program activities, coordinating the activities of the Assistant Teachers and Aides, and assisting the School Age/Summer Camp Director with designated activities.

General Responsibilities:

• Assist the School Age Director in the supervision of staff members in your home base.
• Provide a nurturing environment in which all children feel welcomed and secure.
• Meet Keystone Stars* standards.
• Read and adhere to the JCC Early Childhood Program standards for: Following DHS regulations, Communicating with families, Care of facility and equipment, Record keeping, Curriculum, Health and safety procedures, Teamwork, including regular attendance of staff meetings
• Positively and actively promote the JCC's mission, membership, programs, events and charitable purpose to JCC members and the general public.
• Provide excellent customer service to JCC members, staff, and guests by adhering to the JCC Consumer Code of Conduct.
• Other duties as needed or assigned.

*Time used to support the JCC in meeting Keystone Stars quality standards is funded by Keystone Stars. If the JCC should lose this funding, then that portion of time and salary would be absorbed into the operating budget.

Skills and Qualifications:

• B.A. degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, special education, psychology, or the human services field; or
• B.A. in any field with 30 credit hours in above fields; or
• A.A. degree in above field and two years of experience; or
• A.A. in any field with 30 credit hours in above field and three years' experience
