Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Assistant Site Director at Marian E. McKeown Elementary School in Newton, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year. The role follows the school calendar with morning and afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities include overseeing activities, ensuring safety, and communicating with families; benefits include employer-paid childcare and other perks. This is a part-time, non-exempt position supporting students in a caring, structured program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of childcare experience.
• Lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise before- and after-school activities and ensure a safe, engaging environment.
• Coordinate with families and school staff to support student growth.

PAY: $17.00 - $18.00per hour

SCHEDULE: Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:00 - 8:15 am

Afternoon Program: 3:00 - 6:00 pm

• Staffing: The site is fully staffed every day; teachers are prepared, supported, and showing up for the kids


• Compliance: The site operates in ratio at all times; records are accurate and current; the program is ready for inspection on any given day


• Inventory: The site is well-stocked with the supplies and materials teachers need; nothing runs out mid-week; restocking happens before it becomes a problem

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred


• 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting


• Some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred


• Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus


• Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required


• Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.


• Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.
