Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA is seeking a School Age Childcare Assistant to plan, supervise, and implement childcare activities in line with California licensing guidelines. You will provide a safe, engaging environment for children to thrive.

You will guide positive behaviors, support HEPA standards, assist with lesson plans, set up and clean the program area, and deliver friendly service to children and families.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Health Screening Report and negative TB test required prior to first day of employment.
• Ability to obtain Criminal Record Clearance within stated timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs in accordance with California Community Care Licensing.
• Provide quality care and supervision to children, ensuring a safe environment for all.
• Support Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) standards in activities and meals.
• Set up and clean-up of the program area including basic housekeeping tasks.
• Provide exceptional customer service and foster connections with children and families.
