Job summary

Washington County Schools SACC program seeks a dedicated child care caregiver to provide safe, educationally enriched care for students attending Washington County Schools.

The role involves supervising children, planning weekly lessons, ensuring safety, and maintaining clear communication with families. Training in First Aid/CPR/AED will be provided after employment clearance, with ongoing development requirements.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Background check every 5 years.
  • First Aid, CPR and AED training (provided on employment clearance).
  • Physical (every 3 years).
  • 12 hours of state-approved professional development annually.

Job description

The Washington County School Age Child Care (SACC) Program provides a safe, educationally enriched, quality care program for children attending Washington County Schools. The Responsiblitiies of the child-caregiver include creating an enriching learning enviroment and to look after the basic needs of chidren in the their care.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain children's safety
  • Provide a clean and safe enviorment
  • Supervise and guide children through scheduled activities
  • Implement state rules and regulations
  • Effective and positive communication with parents and children
  • Report suspected child abuse
  • Prepare weekly lesson plans
  • Report equipment hazards and safety concerns to the Site Director
  • Must arrive on time for scheduled shifts
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Director
  • Responsible for knowledge of proper safety drill procedures to include evacuation procedures and safe areas within facility
  • Maintain the policies and procedures of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of with a high school diploma or (equvalent)
  • Background check (every 5 years)
  • First Aid, CPR and AED training (will be provided when clear for employment)
  • Physical (every 3 years)
  • 12 hours of state approved professional development training each year. (staff will be guided to web sites in order to achieve the required training)
