Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a School-Age Childcare Assistant Site Director for our Before and After School Programs at Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, NJ for the 2026-2027 school year. The role follows the school calendar with morning and/or afternoon sessions.

You’ll lead activities for ages 5-12, supervise staff, and partner with families to support student growth in a safe, engaging environment. This part-time, non-exempt position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
• Some lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus.
• Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required.
• Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.

• Support program quality by keeping children engaged, safe, and learning through play.
• Collaborate with teammates and communicate effectively with families.
• Help ensure staffing coverage and compliance with ratios.
• Assist in inventory and supplies as needed.
