Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for the Before and After School Program at Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, NJ for the 2025–2026 school year. The role is part-time, follows the school calendar, with morning and/or afternoon shifts.

The position emphasizes building relationships with children, supervising activities, and creating a safe, engaging environment for ages 5–12. Employer-paid childcare and other benefits support staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required or preferred; 1 year of childcare experience is a plus.
• Background checks are required by state regulations.
• Ability to meet physical demands (bending, lifting up to 50 pounds) and actively engage with energetic children.
• Positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities per Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, arts, homework).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and engaging environment and be a positive role model.
• Follow state guidelines and host school policies and program rules.
• May perform attendance, registration, and staffing tasks as needed.
