Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) partners with Seattle Parks and Recreation to deliver high-quality school-age care for children ages 5-12. This management-level position supports the program operations, mentors staff, and contributes to engaging activities and curriculum planning at multiple sites in Seattle.

The role emphasizes leadership, organizational skills, and effective communication with families, staff, and partners, ensuring safety, compliance, and a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum of 35 college credits.
• Experience in youth development, childcare, education, or a related field.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
• Must meet or obtain DCYF licensing requirements prior to working in the program.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor program staff, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for children and staff.
• Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, staff, and community partners.
• Help manage scheduling, supplies, and administrative tasks as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety guidelines, and organizational policies.
• Provide leadership and day-to-day support to staff and participants in the absence or support of the Director.
