Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) is hiring as a School-Age Care Counselor for after-school programs in Seattle community centers. The role involves guiding a classroom of children ages 5-12, delivering engaging activities, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.

Hours are part-time, up to 23 per week during the school year, with potential summer work. Requirements include a high school diploma, MMR, TB testing, a DCYF background check, and a Washington Food Worker Card.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass requirements including MMR, TB testing, and background check per DCYF.
• Washington Food Worker Card required after hiring; ARC pays related fees.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a classroom of children ages 5-12 during after-school hours.
• Implement developmentally appropriate activities and maintain safety.
• Maintain staff-to-child ratio of 1:10 whenever possible.
• Collaborate with ARC School-Age Care Director and teammates.
