Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) seeks a School-Age Care Lead Counselor for after-school programs in Seattle. You will supervise and guide a classroom of children ages 5-12, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and maintain a safe, inclusive, engaging environment at North Seattle community centers.

Community partners include Seattle Parks and Recreation; Monday–Friday after-school hours, up to 23 hours/week, with some summers possible.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires MMR vaccination, TB testing, MERIT background check, and Washington Food Worker Card after hiring.

Responsibilities

• Assists and leads in applying daily curriculum with children ages 5-12.
• Models appropriate behavior and supports social and emotional growth.
• Maintains staff-to-child ratio as much as possible for safety.
• Collaborates with ARC School-Age Care Director for guidance.
• Supports Director in more advanced daily operations.
