Job summary

Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Towson, MD, is seeking an Extended Care Aide (part-time) to support teachers with engaging activities for school-aged children. The role focuses on safe, nurturing care and helping children grow socially and academically throughout the school day.

The position requires strong communication and organizational skills, comfort with children, and a willingness to participate in required Basic Health and Safety training.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Previous childcare experience is preferred.
• Must have the ability to interact with children in a calm, patient, and caring manner.
• Required training in Basic Health and Safety, etc., can be provided if needed (will need to maintain 6 hours of training annually).
• Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, walk, bend, and reach to interact with children; must be able to lift children as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Director’s direction during lesson plans and activities to help children grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.
• Assist the Director with the setup of materials and supplies for activities.
• Assist the Director in meeting their physical and emotional needs.
