Job summary

Kids After Hours Inc in Silver Spring, MD is seeking an enthusiastic staff member for morning and/or afternoon shifts (7-9:30 am, 3-6:30 pm, Monday through Friday). You will engage school-aged children with snacks, activities, and supervised play in a safe environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of childcare experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lead activities while working as part of a team. Applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience working with children.
• Ability to lead, plan, organize and implement program activities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up/clean-up of the room and activities.
• Organize and label equipment, games, and toys.
• Provide hands-on supervision and safety for children.
• Lead a variety of group activities (crafts, nature, songs, games).
• Interact positively with children and report concerns to leadership.
• Enforce safety guidelines and procedures for childcare programs.
• Accumulate 6 hours of continuing education annually.
• Aides report to the site Director.
