Job summary

Catalyst Family Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support planning and implementing Catalyst's programming for children from infancy to school age depending on location.

You will facilitate age-appropriate activities, support social-emotional development, and supervise children to keep them healthy and safe in a nurturing environment. This entry-level role requires basic education in early childhood, 6 months group care experience, and CPR/First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• 6 postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field with passing grades of C- or better
• Regional occupation program certificate of training in child care issues and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges
• 6 months of experience in a group care environment where care/teaching was provided for a consistent age group is preferred
• Current adult and infant CPR & First Aid certification is preferred
• Bilingual/multilingual language preference based on individual center needs

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum connected to children's interests
• Maintain enriched and age-appropriate learning environments and quality experiences
• Provide excellent customer service by establishing authentic connections with children, families, schools, and the community
• Ensure children are supervised and safe, following health and safety guidelines
• Collaborate with staff to align values, education, and experience for high-quality programs
