YWCA Tri-County Area in Pottstown, PA is seeking a K-5 School Age Assistant Teacher to support early education and oversee activities for Kindergarten–5th grade students. The role requires 1–2 years of education experience, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with families and staff.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, supervising safety during summer camps, and delivering developmentally appropriate activities while upholding center policies and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of professional education experience.
• Understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others (team members, children, families).
• Ability to work with others including families and community members.
• Understanding of diverse family dynamics and cultural differences with the ability to empower families.
• Knowledge of YW3CA mission, goals, and objectives.
• Knowledge of early childhood education concepts and child development issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging lesson plans aligning with curriculum standards.
• Actively supervise and ensure safety during swimming and summer camp.
• Provide reliable break coverage across age groups.
• Implement curriculum activities and encourage participation.
• Lead classroom activities and manage materials.
