YWCA Tri-County Area is hiring a K-5 (School Age) Assistant Teacher for their STARS 4 Early Education Center in Pottstown, PA. The role focuses on creating a safe, nurturing environment and delivering developmentally appropriate activities for kindergarten through 5th grade children.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of professional education experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires 1–2 years of professional education experience.
• Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.
• Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare, and organize engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum.
• Actively supervise safety during swimming and water activities in summer camps.
• Provide reliable break coverage across age groups.
• Implement curriculum activities and encourage participation by all children.
• Lead classroom activities and manage materials and cleanliness.
• Model self-help and hygiene habits for children.
• Ensure smooth transitions from home to center for children and families.
• Comply with center policies and state regulations.
