Job summary

Bluegrass Community & Technical College is seeking a Senior Financial Aid Specialist for Scholarships to oversee college-wide scholarship programs and implement procedures to monitor compliance with donors, grants, state and institutional guidelines to deliver quality service for students.

The role chairs the college’s Scholarship Committee, coordinates with Advancement Offices, sustains scholarship awards, and ensures accurate processing of KEES and state aid while counseling students and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and six years’ relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ relevant experience, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee scholarship programs, monitor compliance with donors, grants and state guidelines to provide quality service for students.
• Chair the college Scholarship Committee and coordinate with Advancement Offices; monitor committee performance.
• Collaborate with the Advancement Office to award new Foundation Scholarships throughout the academic year.
• Monitor, process and supervise KEES and Early Childhood Scholarships; assist with state aid program reconciliation.
• Counsel students on funding options and assist with forms; conduct financial aid workshops on- and off-campus.
• Perform verification, disbursement, loan processing, counseling, and reporting; resolve student issues with relevant offices.
• Attend professional development and participate in state financial aid associations; perform other duties as assigned.
