Job summary

The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. in Oxford, OH is seeking a Scholarship Coordinator/Senior Scholarship Coordinator to supervise the awarding of university scholarships and ensure compliance with endowed gift agreements.

You will coordinate funds for over 2,400 accounts, report to 80+ departments, audit funds, and assist students with financial aid questions. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree required with related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree, or 2 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience; Associate’s Degree and one year or 3 years of experience. All experience must be in a Student Financial Assistance or like office and may be gained concurrently while earning a degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the awarding and processes nearly $5,000,000 departmental scholarship awards each year by reviewing and interpreting the legal endowed gift agreements for over 2,400 scholarship accounts to ensure compliance.
• Award institutional funds for programs such as athletics.
• Process over $250,000 in awards each year for the Paper Science & Engineering Foundation and over $1,000,000 in summer scholarships for graduate students.
• Liaise with over 80 University departments regarding the awarding of University scholarships.
• Organize and manage Google folders/access for scholarship funds. Create and run reports for departments to determine balances and ensure nomination/expenditure plans are completed.
• Audit over 3000 funds and inactivate funds; ensure donor intent alignment with fund setup.
• Award over 200 non-renewable funds annually and generate replacement reports for donor fund conversions.
• Maintain electronic files and ensure record retention and general care.
