Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to coordinate and schedule procedures across multiple departments, ensuring efficient patient flow and accurate access to care.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of healthcare experience, strong customer service skills, and familiarity with medical terminology. This full-time role is based in our Dallas area facilities and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One year of health care experience including customer relations required.
• Two years of professional office/healthcare experience preferred.
• One year of medical terminology or certification is preferred.
• Six months call center experience preferred.
• CHAA – Certified Healthcare Access Associate upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedules procedures for multiple departments in a timely manner to maximize productivity and patient flow.
• Select procedures, ICD diagnosis, referral, provider, visit type, and location to expedite patient access to care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physician offices, surgery scheduling, and staff to reduce appointment errors.
• Verify medical necessity criteria to ensure documentation complies with payor guidelines.
• Participate in special projects or other duties as assigned.

Work location: 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231 Work hours: Full-Time; Days; Monday- Friday, 9a-5:30p for 40 hrs/week

Here’s What You Need

What You Will Do

• Coordinate and schedules procedures for multiple departments in an accurate and timely manner ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow.
• Selects appropriate procedures and ICD diagnosis, referral, provider, visit type or case, insurance network coverage and location to expeditated patient access to care.
• Effectively communicates with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and/or other necessary staff as needed to reduce appointment time/date errors.
• Verifies medical necessity criteria to ensure documentation in compliance with applicable payor guidelines.
• Participates in special projects or completes other duties as assigned.
