Job description

The Scheduling Manager is responsible for developing and facilitating an operational delivery plan across the fleet while taking ownership of the factors that affect productivity and aircraft utilization. This individual regularly determines the best approach to resolving operational issues in collaboration with cross-functional team members.

The ideal Scheduling Manager is an energetic and highly organized professional with excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. This individual takes pride in anticipating challenges, developing practical solutions, and positively influencing business performance.

Essential Functions

Maintenance
  • Maintain a high level of focus on aircraft availability and uptime.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Planning team to optimize the scheduling of inspections.
  • Balance planned downtime across the fleet to minimize operational disruption.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance with anticipated customer demand.
  • Triage aircraft-on-ground (AOG) events and facilitate recommendations for the optimal course of action.
  • Consolidate planned and unplanned maintenance events whenever operationally appropriate.
  • Evaluate preventive-maintenance decisions to achieve the best operational return on investment.
  • Coordinate the effective use of available resources, including MSU resources.
  • Track and facilitate aircraft TLC and appearance requirements.
  • Ensure Flight Control and flight crews have access to accurate projections for upcoming maintenance events.
Crewing
  • Maintain a high level of focus on crew availability and the staffing of operationally available aircraft.
  • Use improved return-to-service forecasting to ensure crews are appropriately positioned when aircraft return to service.
  • Partner with Crew Scheduling to maintain desired staffing levels.
  • Coordinate crew events with maintenance events to minimize their effect on fleet readiness.
  • Work with the Director of Operations to maintain and utilize ARGUS, WYVERN, and WUP qualification information that may affect aircraft-tasking flexibility.
Flight Control and Operations
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication among stakeholders, team members, and leadership.
  • Support the Operations team by ensuring accurate information reaches the appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate the cross-functional decision-making required to support optimal operations.
  • Anticipate and resolve operational issues.
  • Continuously consider the downstream effects of current operational decisions and events.
  • Ensure trip sheets are issued accurately and on time.
  • Optimize trips operated on fleet aircraft.
Client Services and Sales
  • Understand and anticipate client needs.
  • Support the Client Services team by ensuring client requirements are accurately communicated to downstream departments.
  • Identify and communicate VIP and other special requirements.
  • Support Sales and Client Services with the addition of ASAP and other short-notice trips.
  • Communicate aircraft availability to the Sales team.
Commercial Considerations
  • Promote strong fleet utilization and loaded efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to reposition aircraft away from high-cost airports.
  • Identify and eliminate operational waste.
  • Balance operational requirements with cost, efficiency, and customer needs.
Flight Scheduling
  • Develop flight schedules based on customer demand, aircraft availability, crew availability, and operational requirements.
  • Recover and reschedule flights during irregular operations.
  • Coordinate with Crew Logistics and Crew Scheduling regarding crew assignments, positioning, duty periods, and rest requirements.
Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 30 pounds.
