Job summary

NiSource seeks a Director of Portfolio Planning & Origination in the Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN area with a 3-day hybrid schedule. You will lead energy origination, capacity planning, and regulatory support, directing $5B+ in capital investments across Indiana and Kentucky to meet customer needs through 2030.

Qualifications

• Experience in wholesale energy markets and energy origination.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory processes and rate mechanisms.
• Proven ability to lead a large, cross-functional department.

Responsibilities

• Lead generation capacity replacement activities both short- and long-term.
• Design and review Requests for Proposals for electric capacity needs.
• Oversee commercial negotiations for asset acquisitions and power purchase agreements.
• Manage and optimize existing generation supply agreements totaling billions in value.
• Provide testimony and support in regulatory filings and rate cases.
• Coordinate market forecasts and hedging programs with risk and finance teams.
• Interface with Tariff/Rider development and audits as required.
