• Collaborate with Nurse navigation, Geneticists, Oncology, Surgery scheduling, Radiology and other departments.
• Update medical records accordingly and ensure clear, concise surgical scheduling communication.
• Perform general office duties and daily scanning of patient records into OnBase.
• Obtain appropriate authorization through patient insurance company.

Summary Job Description

Seeking Pain Management Scheduling Coordinator! Full-time, 7:45 am - 4:15/4:30, Monday-Friday BHMG Floyd- 313 Federal Drive Northwest, Corydon, IN Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky area Schedules the consultations for physicians with other physicians as needed. Schedules and confirm patients’ clinical and diagnostic appointments. Handles all scheduling including diagnostic imaging referrals for assigned physician. Faxes medical records and performs precertification.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Make appointments for patients in office and on the phone to see the doctors, testing and to schedule procedures in the hospital and at other facilities.
• Combined cases are scheduled at the same time of tumor removal with plastic surgeon.
• Works closely with other departments in the hospital including but not limited to Nurse navigation, Geneticists, Oncology, Surgery scheduling, Plastic Surgery and Radiology.
• Updates medical record accordingly.
• Clear and concise communication regarding surgical scheduling is very important-organizational skill is key.
• Perform other general office assignments.
• Daily scanning of patient records into OnBase.
• Obtain appropriate authorization through the patient's insurance company.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required

High School diploma or equivalent preferred. One to three years clerical experience in a physician office preferred. Computer knowledge such as Medical Office and Scheduling Applications preferred.
