Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to schedule patient appointments, perform reminder calls, greet and register patients, and verify demographics and insurance information. The role also includes collecting co-pays, processing payments, and preparing daily deposits and reconciliations.

Additional duties include relaying messages to providers, logging them, and providing general clerical support such as typing correspondence and managing mail and supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Computer skills are required.
• Medical terminology knowledge is preferred.
• Prior medical office experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Makes patient appointments and reminder calls.
• Greets, registers, and checks in/out patients.
• Verifies demographic and insurance information in the system.
• Collects co-pays and other payments; prepares daily deposits and reconciliations.

Verifies demographic and insurance coverage information and enters into appropriate system/patient record. Collects co-pays and other payments and prepares daily deposit & reconciliation report. Receives and accurately and timely relays all phone messages to and from providers and logs them appropriately. Also provides clerical/secretarial support to the office as needed by typing correspondence and reports, sorting and delivering mail, processing incoming and outgoing faxes and ordering and maintaining supplies.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures/Certifications/Registrations Required:

• A. High school diploma or equivalent.
• B. Computer skills required.
• C. Medical terminology skills preferred.
• D. Prior medical office experience preferred.
