Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital in Idaho is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduler to join the Axis Spine Team. The Scheduling Coordinator handles patient appointments, verifies demographics and insurance, and maintains records while delivering excellent customer service.

This role requires multi-tasking, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure. Experience in medical office settings, CPT/ICD-10 knowledge, and familiarity with insurer processes are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of medical clerical experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes and medical terminology preferred.
  • CPR/BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars.
  • Verify demographics and insurance information.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling records and documentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service on a multi-line phone system.
  • Respond to voicemails promptly and professionally.

Job description

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service-focused Scheduler to join our Axis Spine Team! The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling appointments for patients, managing assigned providers' schedules, verifying demographic and insurance information for patients, and verifying that proper records and documentation are in place for appointments. Maintain accurate records associated with the scheduling and the processing of patient documentation. Provides excellent customer service to callers on a multi-line phone system. Returns voicemails to callers in a timely manner. Projects a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of patients, coworkers, and the Northwest Specialty Hospital as appropriate. This position will require excellent customer service skills and communication skills. Works under stress and in situations that demand patience and tact while providing impeccable service. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Preferred Experience
  • High school diploma required.
  • One year of prior clerical experience in a medical setting strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent skills in interpersonal communication to ensure the ability to build relationships with physicians or their support staff
  • Knowledge of insurer and payer processes
  • CPR/BLS or obtained within first ninety days of hire
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines required.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes and medical terminology preferred.
  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States.
  • Three years of medical office experience preferred
