About the Position
FirstLight Home Care of Southeast Georgia is seeking an organized, dependable, and people-focused Scheduler to join our team.
The Scheduler plays a critical role in making sure our clients receive the care they need by coordinating caregiver schedules, maintaining appropriate staffing coverage, communicating schedule changes, and supporting the day-to-day operations of our office.
This is a fast-paced position that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to remain calm and organized when schedules change unexpectedly.

What You'll Do
- Coordinate and maintain schedules for clients and caregivers based on care plans, client needs, and staff availability
- Ensure appropriate caregiver coverage for all scheduled client visits
- Create, update, and maintain daily and ongoing staff schedules
- Communicate schedule changes, call-ins, cancellations, and other updates to caregivers, clients, and office staff
- Respond to client and caregiver needs and determine when situations should be escalated to a supervisor
- Maintain accurate client and employee information in scheduling and database systems
- Track staff and client information, assessments, reminders, admissions, hospitalizations, and discharges
- Maintain call-in, retention, staffing, and client statistics and reports
- Answer incoming calls professionally and assist callers with questions or direct them to the appropriate team member
- Welcome and assist visitors to the office
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, data entry, copying, mail distribution, document preparation, and telephone coverage
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPAA privacy requirements
- Follow FirstLight Home Care policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Stay current with scheduling technology, software, and office systems
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and help identify ways to improve office and scheduling processes
- Provide designated after-hours/weekend coverage for emergencies, scheduling concerns, and client referrals/intakes
- On occasion, assist with caregiver coverage when needed

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of related administrative, scheduling, healthcare, home care, or nursing care experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Experience with scheduling software preferred
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance required
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing
