Job summary

The Cancer & Hematology Centers is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to support and collaborate with the clinic team in providing excellent patient care. This role handles appointment scheduling, referrals, and patient communication to ensure smooth clinic operations close to home.

Education includes a High School Diploma with orientation completion; preferred experience in outpatient healthcare. The position emphasizes compassionate service and teamwork within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Successful completion of the orientation program is required.
  • Preferred one year of experience in an outpatient physician practice or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule routine follow-up and treatment appointments, manage external referrals and consults, handle no-shows, answer calls, and reschedule patients on bump lists.
  • Assume day-to-day accountability for delivering quality services through consistent application of policies, procedures, protocols, and standards.
  • Communicate with patients and visitors in a caring and respectful manner; collaborate with care team to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Utilize and maintain the patient electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assist with ongoing quality improvement to provide efficient, cost-effective care.
  • Engage in continuous education and training to maintain skills and competency to perform role functions.

Job Description:
