Job summary

Boone Supported Living in Missouri is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to manage the weekly rosters for 80–100 Direct Support Professionals in an in-office, full-time role.

The position requires at least two years in scheduling or HR, strong organizational and communication skills, and a valid driver's license; it involves on-call rotations and compliance with staffing ratios.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain weekly schedules for approximately 80–100 Direct Support Professionals, including part-time supports and Emergency Staffing services.
  • Proactively identify and resolve staffing challenges.
  • Develop multiple contingency plans for unexpected staffing needs.
  • Communicate clearly, promptly, and respectfully so employees remain informed.
  • Find solutions for time-off requests, resignations, call-ins, no-shows, new-hire training, holidays, employee transfers, and other coverage challenges.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours staffing calls as needed.
  • Review time-off requests in relation to available PTO balances, staffing vacancies, and applicable leave programs.
  • Prepare or assist with weekly overtime reports for management.
  • Promptly update reports to reflect open shifts, staffing changes, and employee transfers.
  • Maintain knowledge of required staffing ratios at each worksite and help ensure compliance at all times.
  • Exercise sound independent judgment while operating within established policies and procedures.
  • Complete required professional-development assignments in a timely manner.
  • Promote Missouri Certification Principles and help ensure applicable contract requirements are followed.

KEY RESULTS AREA

Staff Scheduling: Approximately 80% of this position's responsibilities involve effectively and proactively managing the schedules of 80–100 Direct Support Professionals. Success is measured through dependable staffing coverage, low overtime usage, accurate records, and positive employee experiences.

MEETINGS AND COLLABORATION
  • Meet with Area Directors and the other Scheduling Coordinators to review staffing needs, questions, and operational updates
  • Attend meetings with Human Resources, the Senior Scheduling Coordinator, the Training Coordinator, and the COO to review onboarding, offboarding, staffing statistics, and opportunities for improvement
  • Attend leadership meetings as scheduled
  • Attend other meetings as needed
Job Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • At least two years of experience in staff scheduling, human resources, workforce coordination, or a related field
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn job‑related scheduling and workforce‑management software
  • Ability to work with and respect people with developmental disabilities
  • Confidence interacting with people of all ages and with a variety of disabilities
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current automobile insurance
  • Ability to pass all required federal, state, and agency background checks
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required CPR/First Aid and Abuse/Neglect training
  • Reliable cell phone access for on‑call responsibilities
