Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in Los Angeles is seeking a staffing coordinator to help ensure adequate nursing coverage and high-quality resident care. You will manage daily schedules, monitor attendance, and report staffing issues to leadership.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of health care training or staff coordination experience, strong written and verbal communication, administrative skills, and a Certified Nursing Assistant license.

Responsibilities

• Follow NHPPD staffing audit guidelines and report to Administrator and DON if a minimum of a daily average of 3.5 total nursing hours per resident day is not being met.
• Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing of the facility nursing department to meet residents' needs.
• Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars.
• Report to DON all employees with excess tardiness or absenteeism per policy.
• Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure coverage of unit and daily assignments for all CNAs and licensed nurses.
• Assist employees in accurate completion of forms pertinent to scheduling and staffing.
• Answer employee calls regarding staffing/scheduling functions.
• Assist in making daily rounds to ensure residents are receiving appropriate nursing care.
• Assist in auditing CNA documentation daily.
• Maintain records of current certifications/licenses for nursing department employees.
• Presents professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech.
• Adheres to company standards for resolving consumer concerns.
• Ensures all patient/resident rights are protected.
