Description

The health services that became the Anthony L Jordan Health Corporation (Jordan Health) began more than 100 years ago, in 1904. As one of the first 5 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) established in the nation, its roots are steeped in service to those who face barriers to health and health care, meeting their need for comprehensive medical, dentistry, behavioral health, and community services. Starting in northeast Rochester, NY, Jordan Health has since expanded to become a network of primary care offices and health centers serving residents living in three quadrants of Rochester, NY and in Canandaigua, N.Y.

Jordan Health is now seeking a Union Scheduler/Receptionist who, under the guidance of the Front Office Supervisor, is primarily responsible for working as a member of the patient services support team to provide an exceptional patient and clinical team experience. This role involves effectively scheduling patient appointments and all schedule-related transactions using a computerized system, as well as fulfilling other related clerical functions within the department.

Requirements

The Union Scheduler/Receptionist will ensure that:

  1. An environment which promotes an exceptional patient and team experience.
  2. Revenue opportunities are captured and reimbursement risk is abated.
  3. Patient flow to clinicians and service staff based on appointment arrangements allows Jordan Health to serve an optimal number of patients.
  4. Jordan Health is in full compliance with all requirements related to the provision of care, including billing and reimbursements.
  5. They are a strong Jordan team player.
  6. They contribute to improve clinical outcomes.
Education And Experience Required:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. One year of directly related experience in a health care setting (such as medical secretary, medical receptionist, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  3. Two years working in a position requiring customer interaction, demonstrating the ability to handle competing priorities.
  4. Accurate keyboarding skills.
  5. Ability to use an office phone with special features.
  6. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  7. Computer or business school training is highly desirable.
  8. Bilingual preferred.
Special Skills, Knowledge Required:

Must be able to demonstrate competency in:

  1. MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  2. High level of accuracy when completing patient intake activities.
  3. Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  4. eClinicalWorks or other electronic health record preferred.
  5. Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g., fax machines and printers).
  8. Professional attitude and appearance.
  9. Customer service attitude.
  10. Tolerance for stressful situations.
  11. Experience with ECW or ability to quickly learn and use the system.
