Job summary

Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville, Virginia is seeking a Scheduler to join our Lifepoint Health team. This full-time role supports patient scheduling, deposits, and coordination with insurance and procedures.

The position offers weekday hours 8am-4:30pm with an hourly range of $17.16-$21.19. Experience with hospital scheduling and basic medical terminology is preferred, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Collects up front deposits due from patients from information obtained during the scheduling process.
• Offers alternative financial arrangements to the patient in the event he/she is unable to meet deposit requirements.
• Verifies insurance benefits, obtains necessary authorizations, documents, schedules outpatient procedures.
• Contacts patients to advise of appointment time, insurance benefits, and financial obligation.

How You'll Contribute

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a High school diploma or equivalent required or may be substituted by three years of directly related experience. Additional requirements include:

• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Significant working knowledge of computers, telephones, copier and fax machines.
• Previous hospital scheduling experience preferred.
