Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) in Union Grove, WI, is hiring a part-time Scheduler to determine staffing needs and publish schedules for 350+ employees in a 24/7 facility.

The role runs 48 hours over a 2-week period (3:30pm–12:00am) on a rotating schedule including every other weekend. Starting pay is $23.16/hr with multiple benefits and a 12-month probation. Equal opportunity employer; background check and TB testing required.

Qualifications

• Experience using computer programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, Access) for tasks such as creating documents or spreadsheets, navigating and interpreting data, email correspondence, record keeping.
• Experience using scheduling software to create schedules.

• Experience scheduling employees in a 24/7 facility.

This part-time position will work 48 hours over a 2-week period (3:30pm to 12:00am) on a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies on all shifts, both full and part-time.

• 3.5 weeks of vacation, 9 paid holidays and ample sick time; limitations may apply for leave time usage in the first six months. Leave time is pro-rated for part-time employees based on hours worked

SWC is a state-operated Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Located in Union Grove , Wisconsin, near Milwaukee/Racine/Kenosha.

SWC provides a wide variety of programs and services designed to assist and prepare individuals to live successfully in the setting that best meets their needs. SWC brings together a rich history and state of the art treatment approaches for the new millennium.

Position Summary

As a SWC Scheduler, you will be responsible for determining scheduling needs and preparing and posting work schedules for over 350 employees in a 24-7 facility. Duties include:

• Preparing, maintaining and coordinating vacation calendars for staff.
• Maintaining accurate leave accounting.

Salary Information

The starting pay is $23.16 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as an Office Operations Associate and is in pay schedule and range 02/10.

All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by Southern Wisconsin Center or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have both of the following:

• Experience utilizing computer programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, Access,etc.) for tasks such as creating documents or spreadsheets, navigating and interpreting data, email correspondence, record keeping,etc. An excel test will be required.

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

• Experience using scheduling software to create schedules.
• Experience interpreting and implementing policies and procedures.
• Experience scheduling employees in a 24/7 facility.
• Experience establishing a work schedule and filling vacant shifts.
