The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a Cardiology Scheduler for day shift.

You will handle patient appointment scheduling by phone, coordinating with physicians, patients, and departments to ensure accurate and timely appointments. Ideal candidates have medical office experience, strong typing skills, excellent customer service, and a commitment to HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• One year of prior experience in a medical office setting.
• Must type 40 wpm with proficient computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills, verbal and written.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate more than one event at a time.
• Professionalism required.
• Must have knowledge of HIPAA rules.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments from phone requests.
• Coordinate with physician offices, patients, Health Center departments and all others in completing the scheduling function, including patient demographic information and insurance eligibility verification.
• Verifies that proper patient records and film studies are available prior to the patients' appointments.
• Reminds patients of appointments and to bring prior records as appropriate.
• Contributes to efficiency of provider schedules by filling cancellations and rescheduling appointments when requested.
• Works under the supervision of the Clinic Supervisor/Manager.
