Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Scheduler for Barnabas Health Medical Group in New Jersey to coordinate patient appointments and support efficient operations.

You will work with patients, physicians and staff to schedule, verify information, and ensure timely, coordinated care. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, EPIC proficiency, and willingness to travel to partner offices. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30AM–4PM, full-time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: 1 year in Surgical Coordinating role.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish with medical terminology preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments per physician orders and patient needs.
• Manage scheduling work queues and In Basket messages in EPIC.
• Verify insurance and pre-authorizations where required.
• Communicate appointment details to patients and coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate patient information and deliver quality customer service.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing patient appointments to support efficient operations and a positive patient experience. You will work closely with patients, physicians, and staff to schedule appointments, maintain accurate patient information, communicate scheduling details, and help ensure patients receive timely and coordinated care.

As Scheduler, a typical day might include the following:

• Scheduling appointments based on physician orders and patient needs
• Managing scheduling work queues and In Backet messages within EPIC
• Verifying insurance and pre-authorizations have been obtained
• Communicating appointment details with patients and addressing scheduling inquiries
• Maintaining accurate patient information while delivering exceptional customer service to support a positive patient experience throughout the scheduling process.

You must have a High School diploma orequivalent. Preferably a t least 1 year experience in a Surgical Coordinating role in busy multiple physician practice.Bilingual in English/Spanish withmedical terminology experience preferred. Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office and proficient computer skills. Familiarity with office equipment such as copier, fax machines. Must demonstrate willingness to learn. Travel to partner offices may be required.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30AM-4PM (flexible), Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Hours subject to change based on practice’s needs.
