Job summary

MedQuest Imaging seeks a Scheduling Coordinator in Charlotte, NC to be the first contact for referring providers and patients, handling inbound/outbound calls and coordinating imaging appointments.

You will work with in-house scheduling software, maintain patient data, and strive to meet performance metrics while delivering compassionate, professional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years in healthcare; experience in high-volume call center a plus.
• Strong typing and data-entry accuracy; knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first contact between the imaging center and referring providers and patients, scheduling and processing calls and faxes within 24 hours.
• Support schedule fluidity through documentation and timely processing.
• Engage in a fast-paced environment with task-oriented processes and professional patient communication.
• Maintain accurate patient data such as insurance, demographics, and referring provider information.
• Meet performance metrics: calls per day, appointments per day, and call quality.
• Collaborate with radiology center teams and complete other duties as assigned.

Position Type: Full-time

Work Schedule Details: M-F 8am-4:30pm

Responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as the first contact between the imaging center and referring providers and their patients. Your mission will be to accurately schedule and process all inbound / outbound calls and faxes within 24 hours of receipt. Additionally, you will follow the appropriate communication channels with your teammates to support schedule fluidity and optimization by way of proper documentation, timely processing and effective teamwork.

You will enjoy this position if you thrive in a high energy, fast paced environment and prefer following task oriented processes in your work. You should also be energized by talking to people on the phone and driven to build top level patient care.

• Ability to handle multiple phone lines while displaying excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette
• Master in house software system to accurately schedule multiple modalities (MRI, Cat Scan, Ultrasound, X-ray), input clinical data, and provide additional commentary necessary for patient appointments
• Input and update vital patient account information at time of scheduling including but not limited to insurance carrier, patient demographics, referring provider, etc.
• Actively maintain good rapport with all referring providers and their staff
• Create remarkable patient experiences by demonstrating professionalism, high level customer service, and compassion during the scheduling process
• Communicate and interact with all radiology center teams effectively and professionally
• Meet and adhere to key performance indicator metrics (calls per day, appointments per day, call quality)
• Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Prior Experience:

• 0 - 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
• Experience in a high volume call center or fast paced environment

Special Qualifications:

• Excellent typing skills (40+ WPM) with strong focus on entry precision
• Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurances
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software
• Detail oriented while multi-tasking
• Positivity with one’s self and teammates
