Job summary

Glendale Place Nursing & Rehab Center is seeking a Scheduler to coordinate staffing for our nursing team. You will develop and maintain the master schedule to ensure seven days a week coverage and assist with onboarding new hires. The role emphasizes regulatory alignment and timeliness in payroll documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare scheduling experience, preferably in a skilled nursing setting.
  • CNA experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Compassionate and team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment.
  • Must be in good general health and free of communicable diseases.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, bending, and assisting residents.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and up to 175 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the master schedule for nursing staff, ensuring coverage 7 days a week.
  • Manage scheduling changes, including shift swaps, call-offs, and time-off requests while maintaining proper staffing levels.
  • Communicate scheduling updates clearly with nursing staff, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to align staffing with resident care needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all scheduling documentation, time sheets, and payroll records are accurate and completed on time.
  • Assist with onboarding new hires by coordinating schedules and training timelines.
  • Stay current on staffing regulations and adjust schedules to ensure compliance.
  • Track and report on scheduling metrics such as overtime and turnover to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, residents, families, and vendors.
  • Follow all facility policies, including infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Foster a calm, supportive, and team-oriented environment.
  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and in-services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
