Job summary

MedQuest Imaging, a trusted partner of Novant Health, is seeking dynamic individuals to join our scheduling team in Asheville, NC. The role focuses on timely appointment scheduling, data accuracy, and delivering compassionate patient service.

The position is full-time, with a typical 8am–5pm schedule and opportunities for hybrid/remote work based on role. Prior healthcare call center experience is valued, as is strong software proficiency and a customer-first attitude.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in a high-volume call center or fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first contact between the imaging center and referring providers and patients.
• Schedule and process inbound/outbound calls and faxes within 24 hours of receipt.
• Support schedule fluidity and documentation for timely appointments.
• Communicate with teammates to ensure efficient scheduling.
• Maintain professionalism and provide high-level patient service during scheduling.
• Handle multiple phone lines with excellent communication and telephone etiquette.
• Master in-house scheduling software to schedule modalities (MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray).
• Input and update patient demographic and insurance data at scheduling.
• Maintain rapport with referring providers and staff.
• Create positive patient experiences with professionalism and compassion.
• Coordinate with radiology center teams and meet KPIs (calls/day, appointments/day, call quality).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: 675 Biltmore Avenue

Position Type: Full‑time

Work Schedule Details: 8am-5pm

Responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as the first contact between the imaging center and referring providers and their patients. Your mission will be to accurately schedule and process all inbound / outbound calls and faxes within 24 hours of receipt. Additionally, you will follow the appropriate communication channels with your teammates to support schedule fluidity and optimization by way of proper documentation, timely processing and effective teamwork.

You will enjoy this position if you thrive in a high energy, fast paced environment and prefer following task oriented processes in your work. You should also be energized by talking to people on the phone and driven to build top level patient care.

• Ability to handle multiple phone lines while displaying excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette
• Master in house software system to accurately schedule multiple modalities (MRI, Cat Scan, Ultrasound, X-ray), input clinical data, and provide additional commentary necessary for patient appointments
• Input and update vital patient account information at time of scheduling including but not limited to insurance carrier, patient demographics, referring provider, etc.
• Actively maintain good rapport with all referring providers and their staff
• Create remarkable patient experiences by demonstrating professionalism, high level customer service, and compassion during the scheduling process
• Communicate and interact with all radiology center teams effectively and professionally
• Meet and adhere to key performance indicator metrics (calls per day, appointments per day, call quality)
• Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Prior Experience

• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
• Experience in a high volume call center or fast paced environment

Special Qualifications

• Excellent typing skills (40+ WPM) with strong focus on entry precision
• Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurances
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software
• Detail oriented while multi-tasking
• Positivity with one's self and teammates
